In 2005 NewgateConcise gained coveted Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.
At the time, Stephanie Bose from NewgateConcise said: “We are an environmentally aware company and saw this as an opportunity to show just that. Our customers have been inquiring about this standard and gaining the certification gives us the opportunity to offer print that can display the FSC logo, provided of course that the paper/material used is also certified. We have been working closely with our paper suppliers to ensure that the materials we buy are environmentally friendly”.
The first job we had the opportunity to use the FSC ‘mixed sources’ logo with was, ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’, for publishers Egmont Press. This was launched in September 2005 as one of the first fully FSC certified books.
Since this first exciting move forward, NewgateConcise have printed many more FSC certified jobs. FSC certification has become a useful tool for customers to take advantage of and with more papers and boards becoming certified themselves, making use of the logo is more accessible for new projects.
