At NewgateConcise we are very aware of the impact our business can have on the environment. As such we are constantly striving to minimise this affect, by monitoring all our work practices, and searching for new methods to assist us in lessening our carbon footprint.
To help us to achieve this end, we have set about recognising the specific areas where we can make changes and therefore make a difference to the environment as a whole.
These areas are:
Communication
It is essential to have clear channels of communication in order to get our strategy across to employees, suppliers & customers. Communication also means maintaining an open dialogue about our environmental commitment.
Energy consumption
Looking at energy usage and working with energy suppliers & new technology to ensure the most efficient use of these vital resources.
Waste management
Waste is an inevitable by product of print production and we try to minimize it as much as possible. When waste is produced we use only Licenced Waste Management companies to dispose of it.
Our supplier chain
To use suppliers & contractors who share our green vision and to help increase awareness of associated environmental issues amongst suppliers/contractors.
Raw materials
Precious resources such as water are being looked at so we can reduce their consumption. By setting targets for this we can check our improvement rate and see where further savings can be made. Paper is another area where we strive to lessen waste & encourage the usage of the more environmentally friendly materials. We are a Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) supplier and are pleased to use papers that can carry this logo.
Our staff
Our staff are a vital part of our environmental management system, they help make it successful and ensure our objectives are met. We offer training and seek to develop staff awareness to support this.
The NewgateConcise Board is responsible for this policy, which is reviewed annually and provides the outline for setting and reviewing objectives and targets for continuous environmental impact.
